"Sex & The City": Render to Realtime

This is a shop environment I created for a "Sex & The City" slot game at IGT. In order to avoid taxing the game cabinet's GPU resources, I used digital matte painting techniques to project a costly raytraced rendering onto a lean 3D scene that could run in realtime with a simple unlit/fullbright shader. To a trained eye, the slight stretching of the reflection on the floor gives away the nature of the deception, but because this bonus game doesn't have much camera movement, the player still gets a very convincing 3D effect, and the GPU can spend more of its limited resources drawing foreground elements.

The shoes and purses were modeled by Dave Ross and Doug Brown. I just lit and rendered them, then mapped the renders onto cards.

Please don't bust on me for using the light UI theme in 3DS Max.
