This is a piece I originally modeled in Animation:Master in 2000, then re-lit in 2004, and now, in 2020, I've taken that old render and used some neural up-sampling tools to make a version that looks better on modern screens. I think it came out fairly well, considering I started with a 1280x960 render (with poor antialiasing, at that). After the resize, I juiced it up quite a bit in Fusion 9, with hot spots, film grain, vignetting, chromatic aberration, corner softness, lens distortion, and color correction. The wooden crate was modeled by my friend Caleb Wattles.
Being 16+ years old, this render contains absolutely NO: PBR or physical materials, BRDF/Fresnel, ambient occlusion, unwrapped UV's, SSS, translucency, area lights (only area shadows), or polygonal meshes. It DOES use A:M's somewhat janky implementation of photon mapping with final gather.
